Azaire™ WSG Security Gateway
Carrier-Grade Security for UMA and Femtocells
The Azaire WSG (Wireless Services Gateway) is a mobility gateway designed for the integration of hybrid networks into the mobile operator core network for seamless service delivery. It is a UMA and Femtocell Security Gateway (SeGW), 3GPP Packet Data Gateway (PDG), as well as a Tunnel Terminating Gateway (TTG) as specified in the 3GPP Release 6 Technical Specification TS 23.234. The Azaire WSG is based on the Advanced TCA hardware platform.
The Azaire WSG enables mobile operators to utilize a single platform for multiple IP-based Services over multiple IP access technologies.
- Femtocell and UMA services over WLAN for residential markets
- Common Packet Data Services provided by GGSN for Femtocell access networks
- IMS-based multi-media services for Femtocell deployment
The WSG is a service provider Mobility Gateway that works with the Azaire Service Control Node (SCN-RAC) serving as a 3GPP-AAA Server with the HLR/HSS to provide access to broadband services. The WSG is independent of the specific IP transport technology and is part of the Azaire family of Wireless Mobility Gateways for Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC).
